Summer driving madness

Sue and I went out for a pub mid day meal. On the way on other side of the road a camper van had gone into the back of a car and another car behind at an angle blocked completely that side of the road. This is the main coast road the A27

On the way back for the pub meal the police had turned up and diversions in place down the narrowist country lanes. So huge double decker buses and very large lorries with trailers were trying to go down them.

Eventually even using the diversion it took an hour. Just got past all this and jet another car on car accident with ambulance turning up.

So obviously drivers being distracted or driving too close.

On that A27 we get a load of foreign cars and lorries off the docks on Dover as it is the only coast road down here

It seems that there's nothing the police like better than closing roads and causing chaos. At one time the priority was to clear the carriageway but not so any longer it seems, particularly if it's a main road or, even better, a motorway....
