How many live by the water?

I live on Lake Ontario....we get high winds from the Lake. A couple days ago, we had very high winds and trees were coming up by the roots all around me. I mean, BIGGG trees, even a Christmas Tree (Blue Spruce)....

I never saw one of them in the "happening", but I saw the aftermath, and wondered how come I was lucky enough to be still in one piece.

Flooding is another thing, that can be so dangerous.

So you live in an area where there is treacherous weather??

PS: I have a neighbour who looked out her bedroom window to see a tree there (horizontal)...right across the window. She must have been terrified to think, she could have been right there in bed if it had happened a couple hours later.....

I do, I live on a farm along the top coast road of Scotland. It's Beaches and wee Bays all the way along so I have a great choice of walks with the dog, or exercising the Clydes..

I live on the East Yorkshire Coast but not close enough to be flooded! Would love to waken up to views of the sea though!

I never wish to live near water again. Our previous property was yards from a small river, I was always concerned that one day it might flood our house.

Can see the sea and breathe clearer fresh air. Negatives are sea fogs in the winter and the blasted fog horn going off for hours, and icy winds off the sea on occasion. Humid weather practically unknown.

we are on the South Coast of the UK , just 5 minutes away by car.

We live about 8 miles from the sea.
Very nice too.

I live a ten minute walk from the sea.
