I have made a late addition to my car by fitting a 200wat pure sine wave inverter. Why? Because I can
I was tempted to fit a larger one but frankly it will only be used rarely for things like charging my computer battery when free camping. Room was also an issue as the tail gate was fairly close.
It connects to the Aux Battery via the 30amp fused Anderson plug on the top of the battery box. If you look closely you can see the inverters Anderson plug tucked in behind it.
Personally I prefer Anderson plugs for connecting 12v especially if it involves more than a couple of amps. Cigarette lighter sockets/plugs melt all too easily so I usually cut them off and replace them with an Anderson. They cost less than cigarette lighter plugs too.
The fridge runs off the far Anderson plug which is fused at 10amp.
Ironically I don't need one in my camper because everything in that can run off 12v.
