Meerkat

A Meerkat can be an intimidating creature. His eyes seem to cut right through you as he watches your every move. This is the first time I've ever photographed one in real life and it was an awesome experience. I hope I captured the essence of this fascinating creature.

Re: Meerkat

I think you caught him in a bad mood Bob, he's looking very serious, reminds me of Richard Nixon around the eyes, wouldn't trust him for a second..

Re: Meerkat

That meerkat was certainly giving your camera plenty of attention, Bob.

I like watching meerkats, they are fascinating creatures.

Re: Meerkat

Photos such as this are fascinating because you don't see the interesting expression until you process the shot. It's captured way too quickly to take all that in at the time you fire the shutter. Once I saw the eyes I accentuated them so that they become the central theme of the shot. The secret is to do so without overdoing it.
