Backyard Flower

I'm sorry I don't know the variety of this flower but it certainly was pretty so I photographed it.

Before moving to Oregon 5 years ago I spent the prior 15 years in South Carolina. In April/May the pollen season is so bad that when it rains the streets run yellow, literally. All vehicles are yellow, even those parked in a garage. Now Oregon is a garden paradise but the pollen here isn't nearly as bad as down South.

Oh, tell me about the pollen, Bob! It;s perfectly horrid here in Washington when the oaks are flowering ... LOTS of oaks here .... the cars are covered in yellow pollen. I never clean the porch till pollen season is over.
