A House on the Coast

Hi

I have always wanted one.

This is a bit too close.

Re: A House on the Coast

It's such a shame isn't it. My ideal house would be high up on a cliff overlooking the sea but it would be madness to buy one.

I saw that earlier Swimmy and felt sorry for the owners
I would be too scared to sleep there...

Re: A House on the Coast

I would never wish to have a house near the coast, due to problems with wind and high tides.

Near but not too near. But some of them didn't know it was too near till it was too late.

It’s frightening when you see something like that happen, beautiful views aren’t everything.

The same thing happens in Blackgang on the Isle of Wight.
I live on a cliff.

Re: A House on the Coast

Did the people who bought these properties really never envisage erosion could occur ?

Such a shame they will lose their home eventually.

I couldn't live on a cliff top, I have a great fear of heights.

Re: A House on the Coast

My friend treated me and my pooches to a weekend away at her seaside property in Norfolk about 3 years ago, it was a place called Winterton. Lovely place, I adore the smell of sea air.
The only slight worry was her garden was the actual cliff top.
There was no fencing there and we could scramble down some old broken wooden steps straight on to the dunes and the beach.
That would worry me being that close to the edge if it were my place.
