My best pal passed away last night.

Sue and I got to know Tony and his wife Hilary way way back about 40 years ago. We met as we both had Afghan hounds and lived only in the next road. Such common interests we shared- photography - dogs - motoring- house maintenance. We knew he went into hospital a few days ago with a growth around the hip area but it had spread to his lungs as well on examination.

It really hits home when this happens to someone you have known for all that time, I shall miss him

Realspeed Im so sorry, that is sad.
Friends like that leave big holes in our lives that can never really be filled.
You must have some fond memories.
An old friend is very special x

Realspeed, 40 years is truly a lifetime friendship. Not many of us can achieve that. May your happy memories comfort you in the days to come.

Thank you all. Yes It is like having a kick in the nuts but more painful as it hits places that can't be healed.
