Passengers Abandon Train

All these people getting off the train - so bloody lucky they didn't brush the conductor rail and get electrocuted or knocked down by train approaching from the opposite direction.

Re: Passengers Abandon Train

Well obviously they turned the power off the lines and stopped trains coming the other way altogether. That's why they had to wait two hours until it was possible to get off.

Total bullsh*t!!! - the power was only turned off AFTER they prized the doors open and descended to the track and the driver radiod control. That would take a little while and the third rail would be 'live' during that period.

The train came to a halt because there was ice on the conductor rail with the rail company was trying to deice think they turned the power off then.

The train had had no lighting or heating or toilets for the 3 hours it was stuck there and before the passengers escaped.

You are total bullsh*t again.

You clearly have no appreciation of how the Railway works, I, on the other hand used to work in the engineering dept of the Railways and have some appreciation of how they work. Yes the train came to a halt because the pick-up shoe wasn't making contact with the third rail per se. CONtrol would, in order to de-ice the train, isolate the power in that section, NB THAT SECTION, not the whole bloody track in both directions!!!

FFS Joe, why do you get so upset and annoyed with people all the time? I think you need another interest apart from politics as it's clearly making you a grumpy old bugger.

I said nothing about the track in BOTH directions.

Just assumed that the power was turned off when people were working to deice the live rail.
