You clearly have no appreciation of how the Railway works, I, on the other hand used to work in the engineering dept of the Railways and have some appreciation of how they work. Yes the train came to a halt because the pick-up shoe wasn't making contact with the third rail per se. CONtrol would, in order to de-ice the train, isolate the power in that section,
NB THAT SECTION, not the whole bloody track in both directions!!!
