Road Works

Driving home last night Northbound on the A1M there was an awful lot of roadwork activity, must have been 50 vehicles of different types and sizes. One thing that I did notice was that there was a tanker of some sort about every quarter mile or so, must have been at leas 6 of them maybe more. What would they need tankers for when doing roadworks, any ideas?

Fuel supplies for the myriad of other vehicles you say were there, or the heavy oil which will go to make the tarmac when they relay the road surface.

Get away with ya ... they were secretly minting those roadwork cones inside and pumping them out the exhaust ready for when the workmen arrive.

Depends what was inside the tankers.
Were they cement mixers? Water tankers to mix cement?

why do they call them road works when most of the time there is no one there working
