Unusual foods

Called in at my butchers this morning to replenish my depleted freezer, he offered and I bought a large WATER BUFFALO steak. Am seriously looking forward to trying it!!! In the past have had Kangaroo, Impala, Kudu, Ostrich, Camel, Wildebeeste, Zebra.

Re: Unusual foods

There is a herd of 350 water buffalo very near to us Uncle Joe and it's good meat - so enjoy. I once ate buffalo in a Canadian First Nation restaurant, specialising in authentic native food. Chief Chiniki's I think it was - I believeits still there and there is a website. I've eaten wild boar, venison, pheasant and other game; cockles, whelks, mussels etc., but nothing as unusual as some meats you have eaten.

Yup, but I got bored picking the meat away from the small bones in the Rattle Snake I was chewing.

You would be a great man to be stranded with on a desert Island Joe, you know your eats. Enjoy your bit of Buffalo.

Re: Unusual foods

I grew up in a German household eating Head-cheese & Blood & Tongue Loaf so I'm not too squeamish about foods. I've eaten octopus, Wild Turkey, deer, horse and barbeque pig snouts. It's all good.
