What is your definition of love?

I know other people see it differently, but to me love is liking someone a lot. I could never love anyone I didn't like, even close family.

Re: What is your definition of love?

I donīt think there is a definition, there are too many different kinds of love, family, friends, husbands, wives, pets, all different.

If you live in certain parts of UK, Sheffield for example, you are "love" to everyone.

Re: What is your definition of love?

There are many forms of love and different degrees of it for instance I love my cats but not in the same way as I love my kids and you cant compare either with romantic love or desire.

For me to love is to care for those you love over and above your own needs. love is not what you receive its what you are willing to give which is everything.

I love liquorice allsorts too

Re: What is your definition of love?

I am talking about the definition of love concerning humans.

I am fond of my children and have always done my best for them, and will continue to do so. They know they can rely on the old girl to splash the cash if needed.

I am not sure what romantic love is, my husband and I don't do romance, which is fine, I don't think either of us would feel comfortable with that sort of feeling. But as we have been married for nearly 50 years, our marriage has worked for us.

I could never love an animal, they are mere possessions, although of course one shouldn't be cruel to them for the sake of cruelty.

Re: What is your definition of love?

A friend of mine defines love as someone you would die for ,for instance her children , we've talked a lot about this as we've both loved people yet wouldn't die for them , I feel the same . Looking back did I really love those people enough to die for them no , yet I would for my children or granchildren .

I guess I would die for my children and grandchildren, if I had to.

I agree with that Susan, I remember when I had my first child in hospital I thought if a tiger came into this ward now I would fight it to the death to protect my child.

Funny I know because Leeds was not known for its tiger population
