Was still the North Riding of Yorkshire when she was born and lived there. Now County Durham.

Hell Nom, I saw the thread title and your name as the author and I thought you were leaving the forum. Glad you're not as I would have gone as well. It's only the serious conversation we have in the thread I'm commited to in the music thread that is keeping me here tbh. Most threads in the General section are just chit chat these days.

I've heard of Hannah Hauxwell, my mother used to read her books.

I loved the tv programmes and books about Hannah Hauxwell .

Hannah lived the kind of life I would have liked to have had. There are not many of Hannah's kind around these days , self reliant, tough and resilient, a woman I admired.

I dunno Meg I loved the farm but not the cold with no running water or electricity I have lived that way and it's terribly hard .
