Car SOS

Car SOS, never seen a less tenuous reason for doing a car up, Swivel Car SOS.

Re: Car SOS

It's a shame, I like the idea of the programme but there's too much messing about for my liking. Tim Shaw is just a liability and does anyone actually believe that Fuzz can restore a piece of rusting metal in two weeks?

Re: Car SOS

TBH Longdogs, I didn't give last nights episode a chance, I made the first impression that the owner of the vehicle had the financial means to have had it restored, and on first impression again, the owner seemed not to have any "Life Limiting" conditions, but I may be wrong on both counts.
I will watch it again on repeat, to see if these instincts were justified.

I just feel that with all these car restoration programmes, more time should be spent showing the actual repairs rather than just the presenters messing about. For all we know, Fuzz might send the cars to a garage.

Re: Car SOS

My summer car could to with a repaint, Fuzz's place is quite local to me, so, I'll get a quote from there, as they have a reputation to protect.

Yes, Aldridge, not a million miles away, these sprayers seem to want to charge £5 Grand, to spray a soft top, what's the heck is that about?

Re: Car SOS

Watched the whole programme tonight, a good job was done on the Aston Martin, still not sure about the validity of the cause.

Re: Car SOS

I've been thinking about commenting on Car SOS for a while, finally got round to ii

After I'd watched a few of the first programmes I did wonder if they would eventually run out of suitable candidates; perhaps they're approaching that now

But my real problem is this - I accept that these are TV programmes and not just instructional videos, and so need a bit of a varied content. However, it seems to me that in this current series, the amount of actual work shown is less, and the background, joyrides, and general messing about has increased
And Tim Shaw's 'parts blagging' is embarrassing and pointless. Yes, show the repair specialists & suppliers, but not the bull.

They also have an irritating and frustrating technique shown on a lot of documentary programmes now, which is that halfway the programme they will repeat the introduction

I hear that Wheeler Dealers is getting dumbed down.
I watched 5 minutes of a couple of Goblin Works Garage programmes, but switched them off. They were dreadful

So, in my opinion, we could do with a decent car restoration programme
