Lawyers Tackling Momentum

Oh dear

Poor old "Momentum", Comrade Corbyn's Marxist thugs are in a bit of a pickle.

Back in 2004 a children's cancer charity was created called Momentum and they trademarked the name.

Years later in 2015 Old Compo Corbyn and his militant band of despicables decide to call themselves Momentum too.

The charity claims public confusion is costing it tens of thousands of pounds every year.

From the same edition of the New Statemen:

To the barricades for parliament’s 150 award-winning Blue Badge guides, fighting the axe alongside casuals. Most of the workers escorting £25.50-a-ticket tourists around the place are in “Red Len” McCluskey’s Unite trade union. The air’s full of rebellious talk over plans to replace them with cheaper newbies from a “guiding academy”. Picket lines outside Westminster could be this year’s must-see tourist attraction.

I hardly think they would have deliberately caused a charity problems.

It's a bit like those accuse Christians of stealing 25th December, no one should be able to own a word or a date. Even my bil who chose our wedding anniversary to get married himself on

lol what ?

Stop smoking that stuff Julie !

The securing of brand names, company names has been in place for 100s of years. It's a simple basic principle to prevent mass confusion and dilution of brands. It really is very simple.

You just register your brand/name with the appropriate trademark body and they check if it has already been taken.

What this highlights, is that the Looney Labour Party, as we all know, couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery much less run the country.

All Corbyn's militant thugs had to do was check with company's house or other bodies to ascertain whether the name they wanted to use, had already been taken. I guess such pitiful administration is beyond the wit of your average Marxist Looney though!

One has to feel for this poor charity who are clearly suffering from public confusing. People, quite obviously, don't want to be donating to the Corbynista Commie wing that likes to call itself "Momentum" but do want to donate to the charity.

It's a poor turn of events for a charity that has been there for 14 years or so and who in the past 2-3 years have had to suffer this nonsense.

I wonder if the oh so kind and generous Jezbollah Corbyn will call the charity his "friends" and seek to rename his group of hard left militant thugs . . . . ?!

Or will he instead just say "f**k 'em"

But they aren't using it for the same thing, azz uses over 50s that doesn't mean a company selling shoes can't or shouldn't use the same words.

Amazon, they can't expect no one to ever use the word again, a shop ok they can stop that but the river, or name your child etc it's free to use.

If the charity was complaining about another charity I'd say they are right but not a political organisation has nothing to do with their target audience.
