Another food scandal

Following on from the recent chicken scandal, another one.

Wetherspoons had to cancel their steak night.

Jamie Oliver also had to pull items from his bistros.

Russell Hume are a huge company, supplying over £120 million a year of meat, burgers and sausages to restaurants throughout the UK.

Food Inspectors have been slashed by the Government,

We get what we pay for.

It is a really important job they do the government are far too much on side of business and nor safety. Locally we've just had a chicken shop closed. People were complaining for over 18 months and many were ill before they were closed. It's just not good enough.

I’m going out to a pub (not Whetherspoons!) for a steak today. I’m feeling a bit wary!

It's been quite bad here for over a decade Uj, I remember complaining about a bakery it was horrible, all they did was put up a screen between the public and the shelves so we couldn't see what was there. That was 12 years ago.

I'm sticking to the fish in future!! First Horsemeat, then Chicken, now Steak and Gammon. Move over Vegetarians, the way things are going, there will be a lot more joining you.

Three local business in North Shropshire have picked up a whole load of new contracts and are advertising for workers.

Does anyone really think they eat good wholesome food anymore? I gave that up years ago. The whole food industry chain from farmer to supermarket shelf is rife with opportunity for tampering, mislabelling, incorrect hygienic storage ..etc.

Growing your own veggies is a help of course but there's no way I can fit a cow in the back garden.
