The thing about fate is it never minds it’s own business, it keeps butting in, in all the tragic tales one hears fate is always there isn’t it? “He was cycling down the country lane on a lovely summers afternoon when fate interfered, a cow ran out in front of him, he hit it and was sent over the handlebars and broke his neck” If fate hadn’t been there in the first place that would never have happened.
You regularly hear of “The cruel hand of fate” and “Fate lent a hand” don't believe it, we had only four hands working in our small workshop in town, when we were very busy fate never lent us a hand.
No, I never tempt fate, it gets narked when you do that, you just can’t trust fate, best to keep it at arms length whenever possible, but then you can’t see it coming can you? it’s a bloody nuisance if you ask me.

In the movie A Man Called Ove fate was defined as "the sum of all of our stupidity." I could argue the opposite too.

I have been knitting up my fate in fair fashion. The yarns are brightly colored, but I am careful with the stitches.

Excellent movie for our age group, btw.
