Share an Ice-Cream?

Would you share an ice-cream with your dog? I don't mean save him some after you have finished, but take a lick each?

No - not lick for lick. I am quite happy if they wait for a bit at the end, or if I give them a bit separately.

Re: Share an Ice-Cream?

Being a labrador, Zack couldn't possibly just have a lick, he would swallow it in one gulp, so no, he gets the bit which I deign to give him at the end. I do avoid giving him sweet treats though as a rule, and usually carry doggy treats around with me which are much better for him.

Reminds of this old joke ...........

Two young chaps walking down the road see a Dog licking its balls .

One chap says to the other " I wish I could do that " , his pal replies " give him a biscuit and he might let you ! "

Re: Share an Ice-Cream?

Oh no! I would never give Dutchess ice cream. I do buy her vanilla yogurt & she gets 2 tablespoons a day, which helps with her digestive system. A co-worker who owns German Shorthaired Pointers told me of that, when I first adopted Dutchess. That is what they give their dogs each day.

Same here. Though as a child I remember sharing with the cat lick for lick and never giving it a thought.
