How low can you get?

The chap hailed as a hero after the Manchester Arena outrage has admitted stealing from one of the victims. Under the guise of comforting Pauline Healey, whose granddaughter was dying close by, he helped himself to her purse and mobile phone. Within hours, he used a bank card at a fast food outlet to pay for his meal.

Despicable.

Re: How low can you get?

Unfortunately it's nothing new.
During the war, and particularly during the Blitz, there were marauding gangs who would loot and steal and even rape bomb victims.
I was so shocked when I first read this, but in those days this kind of negative news was suppressed.
In desperate times scum rises to the surface.

I'm glad its been confirmed that the 52K raised for him when it was thought he was a hero will be returned to the people who donated. A sad end to a heartwarming story that never was.

52k ?
Since when does people have to be financially rewarded for doing a humanitarian act ( which he didn't )
This crowd funding has become rediculous .

Shocking and sad. A week ago a good news story about a
social media campaign that reunited a worker with the bulging pay packet he lost in a pub. Thank goodness he was found out.

It was thought that he was homeless and someone started a fund to get him on his feet. Actually had he been the hero people thought he was the money could maybe have sorted out his life. A shame really.
