Down came the Christmas decs, all put away now until next December, happy new year

Well done but I am one up on you Primus I didn't have any to take down

I hate to see decorations hanging around well into the new year..

Primus, you're not on your own! I know it's terribly bad luck to take them down yet but this morning I couldn't stand looking at the Christmas tree needles all over the carpet any more, or the dropped tree decorations having fallen behind in the corner where I couldn't reach them, or the Christmas cards that kept falling over as I tried to dust the mantlepiece. Time to go!! All back in the attic now and order restored in my front room.

Besides, I've treated myself to a beautiful new marble and onyx table lamp that I wanted to see looked like on the nest of tables that are usually in that corner of the room so didn't take much persuading to get shot of Christmas.

Shroppy, I've never heard it is unlucky to take them down now?
I always thought it was considered unlucky to still have them up after the 12th night (6th January).

That's what I meant Mups, My lovely mum would have had heart failure if anyone even suggested taking the Crimbo decorations down before the 6th January (12th night) hence my warped view of it being unlucky to do so before then.

Well I’m quite surprised that a few of you have also taken down your Christmas decorations, I thought I’d be told how unlucky it was, touch wood, I’m not superstitious
