I did once read from a reliable source the very practical things she carries in her handbag. Unfortunately, I can't remember what they were!One interesting thing I do remember, however, is that she has a secret code between her and her aides. If she is becoming bored or annoyed (or whatever) with a particular person with whom she is conversing, she passes her handbag on to the other arm which is a signal to her aides to politely introduce her to another person at the gathering.
I have read this in at least a couple of places and can well believe it to be true. A very clever and sensible tactic, in my opinion, avoiding any embarrassment and offence.
