Watching
Went out yesterday to try and photograph a small bird that had been showing at the fish quay. It had been here a few days but in appalling weather.
It was sunny so of course said bird had done a bunk, however a new statue had been erected since my last visit and as the light was changing i took a few snaps.
It is called Fiddlers Green, in memory of fishermen who lost their lives at sea. In 19th Century maritime folklore, Fiddler’s Green was a kind of afterlife for sailors and was a place where there was never-ending merriment.
I have since learned it has a little secret, so another visit is needed.
