If money were no object I would like to "up sticks" leave everything behind and go off travelling for the rest of my active life. I wouldn''t bother with a base, but would just stay as long as I felt like it in one place and then move on.

Nah! I have been there, done that, got the T shirt and now it is time to relax, chill out and watch others make fools of themselves.

The rest of the world can be seen better on the internet and you dont have to put up with crowds.

I don't particularly mean where there are crowds AB - there are plenty of places without too many people. I would need a plane and other effective transport along with good guides. Don't you think it would be great if you were able to go anywhere you wanted in the World without restrictions as to where and when and for how long. Just to look, and actually experience it first hand.
