Another new foster...

Went this morning to pick up kitten, it was in a shed in a, as soon as it saw me hissed, spat and growled, the woman would not put it in the cat box, so put the box in the cage on an angle and it climbed in, shut the top quick....Got home, put it in a kitten cage, it went daft...So got a fleece blanket and scooped it up, as soon as I picked it up it stopped spitting, took the blanket off and cuddled it for a while, discovering it was a girl, when I put her down again she spat at me...Since then when I go near her she hisses and spits, but I just pick her up and she stops, until I put her down again she would not eat, and was hiding under the coats hanging in the hall, so I put her food under there and she ate the lot!she has been through with me seen the dogs and cats, met Chancer who she loved...put her back in her bed, she spat at me again..So I pick her up spitting and she stops till I put her down again!!She is white and tabby and very pretty.. even got a small purr put of her.... weirdest kitten I have ever met....

Re: Another new foster...

Oh poor little thing sounds as if she is very mixed up though you seem to be heading in the right direction with her Who or what is Chancer? Are you only fostering her or will you keep her? Hope she soon settles down... My mum has taken on a lovely very small cat who was called garfield but she has renamed her Tilly she used to stay behind the sofa and if she was out and anyone came to the house she would quickly bolt back behind there but Mum has had her about 6 months now and you wouldn't think it was the same cat she greets everyone now and will even venture outside as long as Mum is with her... Good luck and a cuddle for the little girl

Oh bless her, poor little kitten. I hope you gain her trust soon, she sounds scared.

She is coming on, still spits till I pick her up, but is eating and using her litter tray...she has been playing too, is ok while I am with her, but if I leave her alone, she hides ontop of the books in the bookcase, then spits when you go near her, its all noise, not a bad bit in her, all I can say is someone has really frightened her...

Poor little thing. I'm glad she's found you to take care of her.
Any pictures?

Poor little thing sounds like she is going to need a lot of love and patience to restore her trust in people.....
