HS2 - a contractors goldmine!!!

Seems the scumbag 'nasty party', being negligent and incompetent, are allowing redundancy payments to contractors to far exceed what they are contractuallly allowed. How's this for economic competence???

More fake news Joe. You must know that in the first couple of paragraphs, even the Guardian confirms that the dept of transport expressly forbade the payments. The payments were made without permission yet you try to twist the truth in for your own narrow minded ends. What a mindset you must have..

If the Dept of Transport forbad them, then why were the payments made???. Is the Dept of Transport in control or not??? A prime example of incompetence and/or negligence.

Hi

Wow UJ.

Those payouts are nearly as good as the NUM payouts.

Scargill would be proud of them.

If you're happy with it, fair enough, but just remember - you're paying for it!!!

I don't know, perhaps you'd better ask that fount of knowledge you rely on, The Guardian. The Dept of Transport can't be expected to anticipate that private contractors will ignore specific instructions. No doubt there will be an investigation and they will find out. It still doesn't change your deliberate misrepresentation of the story.

This is not a contractor. The government created, owns and controls it. The Dept of Transport is fully accountable in this case.

Private contractors or no the DoT are not clairvoyant and cannot be expected to know that someone is going to ignore explicit instruction not to pay. Evidence in the form of emails are available that show permission to pay this was explicitly denied. In the face of that there is no reason to lay this at the door of the DoT however much you may want to. That in its self is quite likely why this has disappeared from the media.

Total bullsh*t!!! - If the DoT are paying the bills, then monthly reports willl be submitted and payments will be made accordingly. Since the DoT have not sanctioned such exorbitant redundancy payments, the next tranche of payments to the contractor would be 'light' of the excess payments made.

Because of the DoT's negligence and incopetence they failed to do this!!!

Re: HS2 - a contractors goldmine!!!

The B/S is all yours since the payment not only not authorised but expressly forbidden so the fault lies with whoever decided to ignore those instructions.
