Remember her test flight, came across our house at the time, was so loud the budgie fell of its perch and died ( true story)

I loved watching her go over, think it was around 3pm one went over where I worked, always looked up to watch

I went on it at Duxford , very very narrow inside , I thought i could never sit for hours in it .,The windows seemed tiny looking out too.

A small airfield put on a village show each year and one year they got Concorde to fly past ,it circled where i lived and it was so low it looked huge compared to other aircrafts .

Re: remembering concorde

I was lucky enough to buy two experience flights on her. One was for mere minutes (from one airport to another), subsonic, and the second was for an hour and half, I think. We took part in the Southend airshow and went supersonic.

On the second one we were served champagne and caviar (seriously yeuk and over rated).

The thrill of take off...I'll never forget that. These flights were affordable and open to members of the public, and for those who didn't have the funds to fly to NY but wanted to experience it.

Used to look out for it every day going past. A beautiful, beautiful aircraft.

My cousin worked on Concorde for about 25 years, he had a real love hate relationship with her.

Re: remembering concorde

My first time seeing it left me with the impression of how small it appeared. But in flight it cut a fine dash.

I also remember the test flight. I was in hospital at the time having just had my appendix removed. I was about five years old and I remember the nurse wheeling me over to the window to watch. I didn't see anything but I remember the noise.

It's such a shame the aircraft was taken out of service.
