Town & Country?

Did you leave the Town to live in the Country or vice versa?

Were you pleased or did you regret it?

Someone I know enjoyed the rural environment and decided to go even more rural. Unfortunately she found it was too isolated for her liking and is now looking to return.

Re: Town & Country?

I am a country kid to the core and love my wide open spaces, but age etc. has had me do a rethink on living too far out in the boonies. Dislike cities but "burbs" are ok.

Have lived in the suburbs - but too far out!!! am a city guy through and through. Where I live now is within walking distance of not one but THREE major Supermarkets. Bus stop is not too far away and I can travel all over the town in less than 40 minutes.

The town I live in is very small, so have to travel about 20 miles to buy food stuff. We had a local supermarket up until a few days ago ( crap food stuff etc.) Now closed-Arson! Someone decided that the food market was a hazzard to human health & struck several fires in the place.

Someone ate and then expelled the shop's curry - hence the fire destruction.

Re: Town & Country?

Most of damage was from water- flooded the whole damn place.
The authorities closed up the place till the investigation is over-which hasn't even started yet. That place is sure going to smell lovely when they go in.

We left the town life for the rural life and if we could we could live quite easily on a desert island.

The only sounds we hear are mainly are mother natures peaceful sounds.

Because some people think they're cute and feed them - we have an abundance of Herring Gulls which now nest amongst the chimney pots above me. "Mother nature's peaceful sounds"??? - you should be here at 04.00 of a summer's morning and be rudely disturbed by the screeching of the Herring Gulls wheeling and circling overhead.
