Odd request from a friend

Friend rang us tonight from her home in France asking if we could send her some butter, she says she can't get it at all recently where she is, a real shortage. I hadn't heard any thing in the papers and France has a huge dairy business so it seems strange they have run out of butter ?

Doesn't seem that long ago but it was I guess Eu had a butter mountain I can remember queuing up for a free pack for my grandad as he couldn't stand very long.

Thank you sweetie, I'll have to send her some I thought at first she was joking but it looks like she really can't get any.

I'm not sure what we'd do without butter, hate those other spreads.

"French producers are not foolish. They can see that the world market is much more attractive than the domestic market. So they are saying "non" to the supermarkets, and selling their stock abroad"

Surely they're not selling it outside of the great EU?
Did they get permission from Drunker & Co?

She sends me cheese occasionally via another friend who travels to and fro I'm going to see if he can take the butter I've we wrap it well.

I'm not sure I trust postal services to deliver food promptly in either country.

I love President, French butter, (block) that is £2 at the moment.
I also, like Lurpack butter (block) l bought five on Saturday as it is £1.50 in Iceland!
