How do you read your digital books?

Do you use a Kindle or other ereader, or do you use an app on a phone or tablet?

I use Google Play books on both my phone and tablet.

An app on my phone and another on Gracie's fire tablet after she's gone to bed.

I really like being able to switch between the two and opening on the same page I was reading earlier.

I've got audible on my phone too and read/listen on that if I'm busy working.

I use the Kindle paperwhite. Great piece of kit.
Battery lasts ages.

I don’t

I have all the apps but to be honest there is nothing like turning a physical page. The smell and the weight

I’m a fan of modern technology but books? Well as far as I’m concerned they need to be real paper

I read at work in my break and in bed, I've never enjoyed reading real book in either place my glasses won't stay on in bed and my boss would notice I was carrying a book at work. Neither give me joy

Re: How do you read your digital books?

I found that I couldn't go back to physical books...the weight of them, the awkwardness of turning pages. Not when I can have a thousand or so on my phone and tablet. And I can write notes, look up words etc.

Re: How do you read your digital books?

I use a Sony ereader and I use a free program called Calibre to manage my ebooks.

I prefer to use my ereader rather than my tablet or phone because the E ink screen is not illuminated so it is less strain on the eyes, however it does have an extendible light built in so you can read in the dark without disturbing others too much (ie on a plane).

The beauty of the Calibre program is that even people with Kindles are not bound to Amazon because it can add any type of book to the reader eg Mobi, epub, pdf etc and convert them to any book type. Wonderful program

The only problem is that Sony no longer make ereaders so if this one packs it in I will have to go elsewhere.

Re: How do you read your digital books?

I have the Kindle app on my iPad mini and have lots of free books downloaded, which I read when away or have no real book to read.

I never read it in bed, much preferring to have a proper book in my hands. I still have a drawer full of unread ones to go through. My daughter sent up two more for me yesterday when my grandson came to visit.
