Beatles live

I was there that night, back stage. Wild, crazy, wonderful. 10,000 screaming girls. Did you ever get to see them ?
What were you doing that night ?

I have never seen the Beatles but l have seen the Rolling Stones and other artists all on one night at a venue in Rugby, in the 1960’s.

Re: Beatles live

Wow ! The Stones. That's one I never got to see. Mick good that night ?

I got to see The Moody blues 3 times, Jethro Tull, Eric Clapton, when he was with Derick and the Domino's, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Carlos Santana, Steve Miller Band, Fleetwood Mac, Fats Domino, Roy Orbison, etc etc etc and a whole bunch of bands in that lost week-end, but for the life of me I couldn't name them.

Oh, my. Those were the days. I feel lucky to have lived during such times, when giants walked the earth.

Re: Beatles live

Never saw Beatles, but have seen Clapton many times at the Albert Hall. Saw Stones in Hyde Park the other year.
Saw Argent when I was a student!!
And Neil Diamond here at the Rose Bowl.
All terrific

Nearly forgot...saw the Everly Brothers in Birmingham in the 70s.
They were fat!!!!!!
But the sound was good

Yes, indeed. Clapton was one of the greatest, if not THE greatest guitarist ever. "Layla" still brings tears to my eyes.
Many people make a big deal out of Jimi Hendricks but IMO Clapton was far better.

Re: Beatles live

Saw Clapton just a short while after his little boy died.
He'd composed Tears In Heaven for him, it was the first time he'd sung it in public.
To this day I'll never know how he did it without breaking down.
When he finished there wasn't a dry eye in the Hall, you could've heard a pin drop.

Re: Beatles live

I saw the Beatles at the London Palladium back in the 60's.
You could barely hear a word they sang because of all the screaming.

Layla is a good track, but, the extended version, still brings tears to my eyes, but not for the right reasons.
