Do material things make you happy?

Even if for only a short time?

I'd be lost without my phone and MacBook but I do use them for work. I've been trying to have as minimalistic a life as possible but it's difficult.

Some do, although not as much as family and my dogs, but I always smile when I see some of my ornaments as they have sentimental value and remind me of people or times.

My boiler definitely makes me happy, previous place had no heating or hot water so my boiler in the kitchen is like a friend.

I like my boiler too; it was new last year and a lot faster and more powerful than the ancient one it replaced.

I wouldn't say those are material things....not nowadays.

Material things may make life more interesting or easier or more bearable(if you are down)......I wouldn't say happier.

Nothing beats family and if a material item puts a smile on the face of my kids then, if affordable, I'd get it....that would make me happy.

Not in the least, technology has never made me happy, nor other material things really, show me a nice sunrise or sunset any day

So you buy it, instant gratification

Two hours later are you actually any happier then you were before?
