Azure, this one I really like. It looks as if you are trying to give the impression of a saint with her hat brim suggesting a halo, the tilt of the head upwards and the closed eyes, plus the light seems to be coming from above putting the lower part of her face/body in semi shadow all seem to add to the saintly effect.
Makes me think of a Russian icon painting as well because of the halo effect.
Have I got this all wrong?

Yes,Mondays child she does look quite Saintly.
It is really a girl sitting in the sun with a Sun Hat on and sleeping'

i think Russian paintings, and in particular Russian Icons are wonderful.
I do have photos of them and they are very difficult to paint. They are painted with very tiny brushes and special paint mixed with Egg yolk, and take many hours to paint. The Egg yolk goes off too, so you have to keep changing it.
I only wish i could paint one.

That painting has to be framed and sold
It tells a story and conveys an image.
