I agree Mags.

One day when perhaps our short term memory isn't so good, we will probably be glad of the memories old snaps hold.

Agree.

I got a letter from my cousin this week.

Her Dad, my Dad's brother, had died a few weeks ago and she was going through his belongings and found some photos of me, my gran and her when we were about 4 or 5 on holiday at my Gran's farm.

We were really close but when her mum and dad divorced we lost touch...I was about 13 when we last saw each other....40 years ago.

So yes, photos will be good for me as my memory was tweaked by these photos.

Re: Holiday Snaps

Good memory prompts - as long as whoever took them remembers to write the who/what/where/when on the back. Nothing more annoying than finding a photo and not having the first idea of who the people are or why they were there.

Is it better to be preserved in Celluloid, or remembered in pixelated form, or, does it not matter either way?

Re: Holiday Snaps

I never ever photograph people/family whilst on holiday, only scenery, wildlife and occasional street views. I have albums of the places I have visited, many as a solo traveller, so absolutely none of me, thank goodness. I have none of my childhood, teenage years nor married life, and very few of my children.
