More graduation pix

Some more from Sarah's recent PhD graduation in Oxford.

1. At Merton - wearing her regular robes before the ceremony.

2. At the "Tolkien Table" in the garden at Merton - where JRRT himself liked to sit and write.

3. Here she comes in the new robes (They had to "Suplicate" in their old robes before the Proctors - then go out and come back in wearing the Doctorate robes.)

4. The moment of truth - with the Big Cheese!

5. And we're out!

6. Back at Merton and a cheeky snack off the Mulberry Bush

7. Time to ring Nana - and it got very breezy!

8. Looking smug

That's Alex - her partner/BF/Beau - he graduated with his PhD last year.

Lovely photos. There's nothing quite like the proud feeling you get when your child has made a great achievement.

Re: More graduation pix

Wow, beauty and brains! The one of her eating the blackberry is precious - those eyes!

That aside, I just can't get past how much this graduation impresses me. It takes such a tremendous work ethic to complete postgraduate work, and to do so at Oxford...your family will be proud of this for generations!

In a world and time that celebrates all the wrong things, this is the kind of achievement that too often goes barely noticed by greater society, so thank you for sharing it. I hope your accomplished daughter enjoys all the fruits of her endeavor with a satisfying and rewarding career. Exceptionally well done!
