Actor Hywel Bennett, known for his roles in Shelley, the bill and EastEnders, has died aged 73

I used to love watching Shelley ..The unemployed man in a bedsit..

I also liked Shelly. I seem to remember he was a bit of a heartthrob in his day and was shocked to see him a few years later when he had put on a lot of weight. I haven't seen him in anything for a long time though.

I remember him from 'Tinker, tailor, soldier spy' and 'Last of the Summer wine'. He had one of those faces that, even when relaxed, always looked angry for some reason. R.I.P.

Knew Robert Hardy had died earlier, and saw the report of HB in today's Metro.

RIP I know 73 seems no age but he hasn't looked well to me for years.

His favourite film of mine was Virgin Soldiers, although I think you had to have served to understand most of the humour.
