Spectacles

I was just wondering if any of you have the same problem with spectacles as i do? Mine are forever losing the screws or the lenses pop out i take them back to the opticians but a week or so later after i clean the lenses, out they pop again if its not the lenses its the screws at the side. Maybe things aren't made to last anymore.

Re: Spectacles

Hi doc , I think it depends where you buy them .daughter has bought glasses from specsavers and had problems yet when she eventually bought from my opticians never had any . I'd definitely take them back and insist they sort it . After all they are not cheap . Speak to other opticians too .

Re: Spectacles

Doc, might it be because of your strength and you need to be a bit more gentle when cleaning the lenses?

Re: Spectacles

Never had that problem I buy from local independent optician or glasses direct on line. Both stock good glasses.

Re: Spectacles

A tiny drop of superglue on the screw. It won't come undone.

I was thinking the same or perhaps a blob of Locktite.

(Or perhaps a couple of Floydy's old anchor bolts)

Re: Spectacles

Have been a customer of Specsavers for 20+ years. Am currently wearing a pair of glasses which I purchased from them about 10 years ago (my eyesight hasn't altered in all that time).

The only adjustment I make is to tighten the screw on the arm (use 2nd newer pair of glasses to do so) from time to time.

Angel, you haven't seen my face. However, as it happens you are perfectly correct!
