They say it`s easy when one is a small child,it gets harder. I was useless at French-grade 6 O level. And we do not mention Latin. In 2000 I got a GCSE * in Italian.

But Shona???-One must try.

In my 4th form school report my French and German master bracketed the two subjects together and wrote "Utterly Useless". Latin I quite liked and was moderately good at it but languages are not my forte.

These days I usually travel with someone (Chinese Malaysian) who speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Bahasa. Mandarin is getting far more useful than English these days (at least in Asia) while Bahasa works in Indonesia.

Anyway there is always Google Translate.
