Stealing plants

I'm really annoyed, over the past two years we've taken grace bird watching on the South Downs, on our walks we found some rather beautiful wild orchids. We trod carefully to not damage them. When the family came back from their walk yesterday, I wasn't quite up to it, they were all a bit annoyed. My husband reluctantly told me all the orchids have been dug up and taken away ! I can't imagine they will look better anywhere other than in the spot they came from.

Now no one else will have the fun and amazement of stumbling onto them in years to come.

Very annoying people can't just look at plants and feel they have to own them.

I just hope they survive transplanting as they were so beautiful where they were.

Re: Stealing plants

There was an article about this I read recently Julie.

People are stealing rare plants and flogging them. Same as some morons do with birds eggs.

They cannot leave anything alone at all. Parrots for instance look beautiful where they are born yetpeople put them in cages and they did not look so beautiful there

Yes that's our philosophy too Nom, we are teaching grace to be like that too but it's not so easy when she sees others who should know better just help themselves though.

This is the rule we use. Pity others don't
