Grenfell Fire, despicable people.

Hi

A National Tragedy.

It should be a rallying point for the whole of the UK.

It should never have happened , it should never happen again.

Instead it has become a Political Football.

I am absolutely disgusted by this, it is simply not what the UK is about.

There is no Political bias in this, just the views of someone who was part of the system and who had a genuine interest in protecting people.

First of all, my utter and total disgust at Kensington Council and it's leader.

Every single Council in the UK is required by law to have an Emergency Plan.

It is there to protect the innocents, those affected.

There are absolutely no limits to this, both Labour and Conservative Governments have been united on this.

Money is not a problem, both Labour and Conservative have absolutely guaranteed that that normal rules do not apply, they will simply pay the costs, whatever they are.

I am very proud that the UK has done this.

I am absolutely and totally disgusted by the response from Kensington Council.

It is an utter shame on the UK.

£10 cash to each survivor?

Closing down at the weekend?

It simply would not have happened in the Councils I have worked for.

Conservative or Labour, it would not matter, straight into local hotels. everything necessary, from food, clothes, prescriptions , transport to school etc etc paid for.

Irrespective of any cuts, all leave cancelled for the staff required to do this, payments n=made for any loss.

Kensington Council have been a total disgrace.

The Leader has not resigned.

That is a Political issue, send the Commissioners in, they need to be taken over.

They are a total disgrace to the UK.

That is the Political Element.

The professional, practical side of things is my area of expertise.

The employees are a total and utter disgrace to their professions.

It is not going to happen, but it should.

Send me in, or any of a number of Ex Senior Staff, and they would be sacked.

Gross Professional Misconduct, they would lose their jobs and their Pensions.

On the other side of the coin, we have those who have no regard at all for the Victims, using them as Political Pawns and telling out and out lies to further their Political Agendas.

One such is David Lammy.

A complete lying git stirring up trouble.

I agree Swims it's disgusting that it has been made into an opportunity to agitate trouble by the as you utterly despicable people .
I can't think what the council were thinking offering £10 what did they think a cup of tea and a kit Kat .
But that is sorted now
Each family has been given £500 in cash and an £5000 bank draft .

Not sure how things were arranged there, but in the flats that I own, building insurance is paid via the maintenance fee to the management company and it's up to us to arrange content insurance for fixtures, fittings and and furnishings we provide, and up to the tenants to arrange any personal belongings insurance.

Assuming it's similar for Grenfell, the council will have buildings/fixtures etc insurance as it acted as the management company and so any payment will be given to them.

If the tenants had little to insure, then it's possible that many of them won't have bothered.

I guess some of them will have but having lost everything they will have no immediate access to the needs for everyday life until any insurance claims can be settled.

Another problem seems to be emerging hinted at by a lawyer on the radio who spoke of survivors being 'scared to come forwards'.
It would seem some survivors or 'missing' were illegal immigrants or people who were the subject of illegal sublet tenancies. Apparently there are hundreds of the latter in London, some people who are awarded a tenancy then sublet it to a number of people thereby making a large profit after paying the rent.

I heard that yesterday. I suppose that's why they have no idea how many people died.

Hi

If you are on benefits , many simply cannot afford contents insurance.

This is irrelevant in this case.

The claim is against the Managing Agents.
