Are you a ditherer

It seems we are a nation of ditherers.

They have worked out that us Brits spend two years & nine months of our lives dithering.

Daily dilemmas include what to have for dinner - which takes 7 mins to decide - and what to wear - which consumes another 4.
What to order in restaurants - 6 mins 19 secs - and overall, six in ten adults struggle to make decisions, totally seven hours 36 mins in a typical week.

Too much choice is the top reason given for dithering.

The top 5 dithers are:

1. Choosing birthday presents.

2. What to wear on a night out.

3. What to have for supper.

4. What to watch on TV.

5. Where to go on holiday.

Well? Are you a decision maker, or a ditherer?

I am a person who is rubbish at making decisions, so YES.

However, when severely pushed, I will either disappear into fetal position/cocoon, or throw caution to the wind and become totally ruthless.

Ordinarily

1. Nobody to buy presents for

2. Night out? wassat?

3. Just find sommat in freezer.

4. TV is as boring as Hell most of the time.

5. I don't do holidays

There you go

Re: Are you a ditherer

I don´t think I´m a ditherer, perhaps I should be. See something, like it, buy it, get it home, don´t like it. Meals, I´ve mostly decided by mid morning what we are having for evening dinner. When it comes to present buying, a bit more difficult, I like to match the present to the person, sometimes easy, sometimes not. I´m more impulsive than ditherer I think.

I don't dither when making decisions for myself but if it involves deciding for both of us, that's different. Just imagine the grief I would get if I make the wrong one. OMG!

It should be "but now I'm not so sure".

Re: Are you a ditherer

I only dither about buying things, I hate spending money on expensive stuff like appliances etc. My daughter usually goes with me as she's good at getting value for money and she's attractive and blonde so gets a good deal but, I drive her nuts because I decide on something then say I'll think about it!

As for going places I like to just go or at least head somewhere and then change direction!

Yes, I dither
Not about wool though!

No this is not dithering, this is just sensible. You have to do lots of research to invest in the right item.
