Be Happy

According to yet another survey, it is the little things that happen every day that give us the best emotional 'lifts.'
They discovered that big grand gestures are not always needed to make us feel happy and fulfilled.

Personally, I absolutely agree with this.

Below are listed the top 25 pleasures in our lives.
See how many would make you happy:

1. Sleeping in freshly cleaned bed sheets.
2. A kiss from someone you love.
3. Putting your feet up after a long day.
4. Being intimate with your other half.
5. A belly laugh with friends
6. Eating fish & chips at the seaside
7. A hot bubble bath
8. Sitting in a beer garden on a sunny day.
9. Sitting in front of a real fire.
10. Watching Match of the Day without knowing the results.

11. A cuddle with your children
12. Ordering your favourite take away.
13. The smell of freshly cut grass.
14. Realising you have lost weight when you hop on the
scales.
15. Eating an entire bar of chocolate.
16. Winning a tenner on the lottery.
17. Hearing a baby laugh.
18. Drinking wine looking out at a beautiful view.
19. Finishing a good book.
20. Someone laughing at your joke.

21. Finding a fiver in a pocket or handbag you haven't used
for ages.
22. Waking up to hear birds singing.
23. A glowing school report.
24. Finding a parking space right outside your house.
25. Driving along with the car window down.

I think all of them would make me happy . . except two - I'll pass on watching Match of the Day, and I'd never eat a whole bar of chocolate.

Re: Be Happy

19 should be "reading a good book". I hate finishing books that I've enjoyed. It feels like a loss. So "reading a good book, while sitting a cosy chair with a throw by the window, drinking a hot cup of tea while it's raining and windy outside"

Can't believe dogs and cats are not mentioned. What could be better?

I don't know what to do about this problem.
Can't you put a hook on the wall or inside a cupboard door or something, and make a point of hanging them up?

Come on superbrain, you must be able to devise something surely?

What about a special drawer even, as long as you remember to drop them in there.

I might get lost easily, but at least I always know where my keys are.

Nothing mentioned about grandkids either, but I suppose it depends on who wrote the list. I'm not sure what makes me happy these days. One thing for sure though chocolate isn't my favourite thing but I could eat a whole bar, no problem

Definitely cats and dogs. When we are not happy, our pets seem to know and cheer us up accordingly.

Definitely music, played really loud in the car.

Hi

Grandkids are fantastic Summer.

I have none of my own, but I do have 4 pretenders.

Two in Poland, and two here.

I am Jadeck Angliski, English Grandad, I eat spiders, a simple trick, and I give them Ice Cream for breakfast.

Great Fun.

Jacob is 8, 9 at the end of the month.

He is Autistic and disabled, he is incredibly loving and an absolute joy to be with.

Re: Be Happy

All of them apart from 8 - I would never sit in a beer garden, 10 - football is so boring, and 15 - I don't like chocolate.

Would like to add to the list though:-

26. Listening to music.
27. The company of a cat or dog - or any other pet.
