Have you ever had someone pay you a nice compliment, like how well you look . . . only spoil it by adding "for your age?"

Ages ago at a dance a man sidled up to me and said you're quite light on your feet for a fat girl, still fat and not so light on me feet these days but much better placed to sit on him and squash him to death

Ugh!
Reminds me of an ex-friend.

She was several yesrs younger than me and was fond of suddenly pointing out 'you are attractive now BUT you're not getting any younger'

Nobody needs these toxic people in their lives.
It is do damaging.
A form of bullying?

As I'm older by a few years my best friend was always saying things like 'for your age' and 'at your age' so one day I replied 'I might be a bit older love but I'm the one who weighs nine stone', funny she stopped doing it after that .....

Haha , last week I was so called complimented , I mentioned to a gentleman friend that I was getting fat , he smiled and said , no not fat ......cuddly !

I can't remember. ...there was a young lady once described ma as being like a Teddy Bear

with the fur scraped off.




I never did get as far as asking if she'd like to go out......if that's what she didvto her Teddy.
