No it's not !
I have an American friend drives me potty everything is awesome according to her. No it's not, that offer of a coffee and cake is not awesome, that handbag is not awesome !Why is everything in many Americans eyes so blooming awesome ?
No offence meant to any Americans I'm sure us Brits do annoying things too

I was in New Zealand a few months ago. We went for a coffee somewhere in town. Not another person in there. I walked up to the counter, "Two Lattes please" "Certainly sir, where will you be sitting?" I looked around to see where my wife had planted herself. "Over there in the window" I replied. "Awesome" she said. Not quite sure how she thought us sitting in the window could be Awesome.

I know what you mean EZ.
I was talking to a young lady on the phone recently, trying to order something I think it was, and every time I answered a routine question i.e. name and address it was -
Name . . . . . fantatic
Address . . . . fantastic
post code . . . fantastic . . with one or two "briliants" thrown in for good measure.
Nearly drove me bonkers she did.
