Gorse and Peaks on film

Taken last week.

Nice gorse bush and the peaks of The Cuillin Range on the Isle of Skye.

1978 Fuji GW690 - Kodak Portra 160

Love the way the whole focus is on the gorse bush with the rest gently fading off. Must be quite difficult to achieve considering the width of the bush itself. Or is it down to the natural colours of the surroundings?

Thanks. It's partly down to the aperture I used (Wide open at F4) and the format - i.e. a large 6x9cm negative.

There is - but not here.

When I shoot film the negs are scanned and then resized for various uses - including the internet. That's all.

Here's a wider shot from further back - and shot at F/16 for more depth of field.

Re: Gorse and Peaks on film

I like it .

I watch quite a lot of films and the background obviously plays a big part in the overall enjoyment. I find myself, on occasion, just viewing the scenery as this evening in fact when watching 'The Hobbit'. Not sure what I'm looking for but should there be inconsistencies then no-doubt I become aware of them. Same goes for your pictures I can tell there is something different about their composition. And the good thing is I think I know what that difference is too - or can work it out eventually, even though I lack the technical jargon to explain it.
