Adopt a Canal
Anyone seen this?I heard them talking about it on the radio yesterday.
Apparently they want us to adopt 500 miles of canal by 2025.

Coming from East London, I always think of canals as being horrible, dirty, smelly places full of shopping trollies and rusty barges and not something I would like to wade into.

Ah, well that is precisely why they want people to adopt some, so that they will help look after them and keep them nice, make more natural habitats for wildlife and such.
(incidentally, I was born in North London - practically neighbours)
