That Harry Potter vibe :)

I had a few boxes to tick on this year's Scotland trip - and this was one of them! Last year's trip was earlier in the year and The Jacobite Steam Train hadn't started running yet. Even better to get a locally named loco working it

Black 5 No 45407 "The Lancashire Fusilier" crossing Glenfinnan Viaduct with The Jacobite from Fort William to Mallaig. No sign of the flying Ford Anglia though!

It's a great little train journey isn't it?
Did you buy any kippers at Mallaig?!

I saw it in the Telegraph some years ago, the ten best train journeys in the world, and decided to escape on my own for a week so off I went, got the overnight train up to Fort William and stayed in a b&b there.
Nice little town...
Did this train journey, also a bus trip to Loch Ness, climbed up Ben Nevis had a great week!

Sounds like a great trip!
We stayed in Mallaig for 4 nights - very quite place not exactly jumping with nightlife lol! No kippers More pix to come as I go through editing them. We packed a lot into our time there!

I'm lucky to have a full time steam railway just a 40min drive away. The East Lancs Railway between Heywood and Rawtenstall.
