Farndale - Daffodil Walk.

The day was perfect for walking - warm, still and cloudless. The walk covers three and half miles mainly through meadow land with the river Dove and various streamlets as a border on one side and the hills leading upto Blakey Ridge on the other. It is a beautiful place. Although the Daffodils had past their best they were still very colourful and there were great swathes of Primroses and Forget-me-nots as well. The air was full of the scent of flowers and wild garlic and the sounds of bees and birdsong. We stopped at the 'Daffy Caffy' for a brake before completing the second half of the walk.

Oh that sounds so idyllic ST. Just the sort of thing I would love.
Beautiful pictures - I can almost imagine I'm there...

I'm desperately hoping my thigh pain will improve in time for me to do my annual walk in the bluebell woods - not long before they're out now..

Re: Farndale - Daffodil Walk.

I'm only about an hour from Farndale but have never been on the daffodil walk. I kept meaning to but never got round to it, too late for me now, I couldn't manage the walk these days. Lovely pictures Silver Tabby.

I hope you can make it, Carol, I love bluebells. Not sure where you live but there are fabulous bluebell walks around Bolton Abby and along the banks of the Strid.

Most of the path is well worn and on the level, Val, some of it is even paved now. There are two very steep bits though and lots of gates to be opened and closed. One woman was making the trip on a mobility scooter and managed quite well as long there was someone to open the gates for her. Lots of families with prams/pushchairs about.
There are seats at intervals along the way and the Daffy Cafe is very welcoming.
