From way back when ?
What I don"t miss is lunchtime closing and half day closing .
Seems so antiquated .

I don't miss my mother washing me in the sink (we didn't have a bath in the early 1950's!) where she had added Jeyes Fluid to the water. When we used to complain and say it was stinging us, she'd say, 'Shut up, it's killing the germs'!!

Sundays they were endless, church twice and sunday school /no shops open/ keep your frock clean/no games/maiden aunts visiting who ate all the cake at tea time

No wonder I am an atheist /humanist now

Waking up on Winter mornings to find ice on the inside of the window panes. Brrrrrrr!

Washing or bathing in cold water, when the fire wasn't lit to heat the water in the back boiler. Brrrrrrrrr!
