One of my cats had to have a few stitches
On Weds lunchtime Olly, one of my cats, was sitting with my sister being stroked. My sister suddenly noticed that there was a patch of hard fur ( about the size of my thumb) stuck to his skin. When examined it seemed that the surrounding skin was quite red... so we took him to the vets.
They put him under sedation and removed the surrounding fur, along with the patch that stuck to his skin. He was allowed home at 6.30 pm and had a 6cm cut, held together with several stitches, on his lower tummy near his back leg.
He has had antibiotic and some pain killer medicine, so he seems fine. He has shown no desire to pull the stitches yet and he is back to the vets tomorrow for a check up.
Nobody knows how he got this injury but we suspect he may have been caught on some barbed wire, on the farmers fence.
Olly has been so brave he is getting small portions of roast chicken, to cheer him up. If he didn't have a bald patch though, you really wouldn't notice his 6cm cut, because he us moving like a very fit cat.
