Mushrooms in a cream and garlic sauce accompanied by small triangles of wholemeal toast.

Cannelloni in a rich tomato sauce

Cannoli (a pastry tube filled with sweetened ricotta cheese with added crushed pistachio nuts) served with double cream

A nice Chianti to swill it all down with.
