Robot Carers

Not sure what I think of this

Elderly people need human contact and I think many may be 'afraid' of robot help.

Re: Robot Carers

I think they need to be a lot more advanced yet. And what happened to pets as companions?

Re: Robot Carers

I would have thought pet therapy was far better for the elderly. They would respond to an animal much better than to a robot!

Re: Robot Carers

Don't think I would be happy with one of those....much rather see a human face and be able to have a friendly chat with someone.

My friend has two dogs who are PAT dogs-they visit 2 nursing homes and one elderly gentleman in his own home. Sometimes this gentleman tells my friend that she is the only person he has spoken to that day, so can't really see how robots can replace human contact..........
